How to prevent corrosion and rust on 16Mn seamless steel pipes?
16Mn, also known as Q345, is a type of carbon steel that is not resistant to corrosion. Without a good storage location and only placed outdoors or in a damp and cold natural environment, carbon steel will rust. This requires rust removal to be carried out on him.
The first method: acid washing
Generally, two methods, organic chemistry and electrolysis, are used for acid pickling to solve the problem. For steel pipe anti-corrosion, only organic chemistry acid pickling is used to remove oxide scale, rust, and old coatings. Sometimes, it can be used as a solution after sandblasting to remove rust. Although chemical water treatment can achieve a certain level of surface cleanliness and roughness, its anchor lines are shallow and can easily cause environmental pollution to the natural environment.
2: Cleaning
The use of organic solvents and solvents to clean the surface of steel can remove oil, vegetable oils, dust, lubricants, and similar organic compounds. However, it cannot remove rust, oxide skin, welding flux, etc. on the surface of steel, so it is only used as an auxiliary method in anti-corrosion production and manufacturing.
3: Special tools for rust removal
Key applications include using specialized tools such as steel brushes to polish and polish the surface of steel, which can remove loose or raised oxide skin, rust, weld nodules, etc. The manual tool for rust removal of cold drawn seamless pipes can achieve Sa2 level, and the special tool for driving force can achieve Sa3 level. If the steel surface is adhered with strong zinc ash, the actual rust removal effect of the special tool is not ideal, and it cannot meet the anchor pattern deep layer specified in the anti-corrosion regulations of fiberglass
4: Spray (spray) rust removal
Spray (throwing) rust removal is achieved by using a high-power electric motor to drive the spray (throwing) blades to operate at high speed, allowing wear-resistant materials such as gold, steel sand, steel balls, fine iron wire segments, and minerals to spray (throwing) on the surface of seamless steel pipes under centripetal force. This not only completely eliminates rust, metal oxides, and waste, but also achieves the necessary uniform surface roughness of seamless steel pipes under the strong impact and friction of wear-resistant materials.
After spraying (throwing) rust removal, it can not only expand the physical adsorption effect of the pipeline surface, but also improve the adhesion effect of the anti-corrosion layer to the mechanical equipment on the pipeline surface.
